Our remote services support communities by improving access to laundry facilities resulting in disease prevention, providing a place for community connection and creating paid employment opportunities to manage the OS service.

OS currently delivers services in 42 locations across Australia including 14 remote locations. Our remote services support communities by improving access to laundry facilities resulting in disease prevention, providing a place for community connection and creating paid employment opportunities to manage the OS service.

OS values strong local community partnerships and is committed to working with First Nations communities to create workable and culturally appropriate solutions. In October 2021, OS launched in the remote Western Australian community of Bidyadanga. This town on the Kimberley Coast is home to 850 residents. OS was welcomed to the community by our service partner and council; Bidyadanga Aboriginal Community La Grange Inc (BACLG) who we are proud to work alongside.

In remote communities, access to laundry services can be limited and cost prohibitive. To support this, we work alongside remote communities to build impact through free laundry, local employment and local partnerships. With improved access to regular laundry facilities to wash and dry clothes, linen and bedding, an OS service may contribute to improved health outcomes.

The facility may also act as a community hub for social connection, sharing of information, health screening, promotion and education programs, and addressing further community need.
